NAM 1 slapped with new charges; hearing set for September 19

Principal legal officer Godfred Yeboah Lady has recorded new charges against the CEO of outdated Menzgold Ghana Restricted, Nana Appiah Mensah, pseudonym NAM 1.


The new charges were documented on Wednesday, August 30, 2023.


The trial has been booked for September 19, 2023.


Mr Appiah Mensah has been accused of 36 counts of offenses including abetment, duping by bogus notions, continuing store taking business without permit, unlawful store taking, illegal tax avoidance among others.


The Head legal officer started the arraignment of NAM 1 out of 2019 where he was blamed for cheating a great many clients through his gold showroom firm north of millions of cedis.


The case has seen various deferments until new charges were documented today, Wednesday, August 30, 2023.


The new charges come after Mr Appiah Mensah reported plans to deliver secured assets to Menzgold clients after an installment of generally GH₵650 for confirmation.
